Friday is finally here! It was a short week at work with Labor Day on Monday but now it’s time for another monthly hop of the Global Stamping Friends group!
This month is all about color…one color to be exact! Call Me Clover is one of the 2018-2020 In Color colors and I love it’s bright and bold green. This color is unlike anything else we have in our current line up. It’s bright, bold, and the perfect rainbow green that fits with our other 2018-2020 In Colors.
It’s easy being green when you use Call Me Clover! I wanted to highlight our new Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends Light and Dark Combo markers paired with the Grateful Glass Embossed Vellum paper. These two products go hand in hand so very well that they were practically made for each other!
For this stained glass look, I colored on the back side of the paper (embossed side on the bottom) and colored in straight lines. I wanted the lines to show up to add effect to the block look of the lines from the vellum paper. Since the Blends dry very quickly, it was easy to move onto the next block without smearing ink. If you want to use Stampin’ Write markers instead, make sure to allow the vellum to completely as the ink can smear.
To make the color pop more, I glued the vellum onto a sheet of Whisper White cardstock. The best way I have found to adhere the vellum to cardstock is to cut a Stampin’ Sponge into a ‘pie’ piece and add some of our Multipurpose Glue onto the Silicone sheet. Dab the sponge into the ink and then dab onto the vellum. This glue dries clear and cannot be seen through the vellum.
I stamped the image using the Abstract Impressions stamp set. This set is great because not only does it have various images for layering into different flowers, it also has great sentiments in a wonderful font. For the final touch, I colored the Clear Faceted Gems with the Stampin’ Blends and added the Call Me Clover Grosgrain Ribbon.

What a lovely project – I didn't even think of using the Stampin' Blends for my project!
Love that! Now I definitely need those Blends in Call Me Clover.
The lines you left from coloring really do add a lot of texture, I was trying to figure out how you got that "crimped" look at first! Lol. Thanks for sharing 😀
What a great card. I didn't think about the Stampin' Blends. Clever person. Thanks for the inspiration
Great idea, I didn't pay attention to the new blends colours!
Very Clever! Using the Call Me Clover Blends on the Vellum really made the color pop. Wonderful card.
Wonderful card design. I love the geometric design created by the colored vellum. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂
