We Create Blog Hop 9 – Fabulous Fall

Happy Fall Y’all! With today being September 1st it is the official start to fall and that is exactly what we are celebrating today with the We Create Blog Hop!

September 1st is my annual kick off to fall and when I begin decorating my house with pumpkins and fall colored items.  I love fall but here in Tucson, that season doesn’t exist here.  We go from surface of the sun hot to almost surface of the sun hot to tolerable temps for the remaining eight months of the year.

For my project this month I wanted to highlight an annual catalog stamp set that is one of my favorite, Colorful Seasons.  This stamp set and coordinating dies are perfect for fall with their leaf stamps that can be colored in.  Actually this set is perfect for any season as it is covered by all of them!
To me Fall is all about simplicity and I showed that exactly in my card.  I started with a Crumb Cake card stock back and used the new Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  This paper is beautiful and is great because one side are traditional holiday colors such as reds and greens and the other side is neutral and can be used year round.
I used the coordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies and Crushed Curry card stock to cut out the leaf and I stamped the leaf on Whisper White cardstock and colored it in with the new Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.  For the ribbon, I absolutely love this color.  This ribbon is the new Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon.  One side is the plain Merry Merlot color and the other side has copper threaded through it to make it shine.  A simple Gold Faceted Gem at the top makes everything sparkle.
