Thursday is here, the weekend is slowly coming into view and it’s time for another month with the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop!
Each and every one of us has a different crafting level, and at Stampin’ Up, we celebrate each crafter no matter what their skill sets are. The projects I highlight on my blog while geared towards more of the Avid crafter, can be modified for even beginners.
For our hop this month, we are celebrating the three different categories that crafters can be in; Beginner, Casual, and Avid. Beginner crafters are just that. Those that are new to the papercrafting world and are just starting out. Casual crafters are those who craft maybe once to a few times a week and Avid crafters, well those of us to run blogs called Stampin’ Blondie!
My projects this month showcase how our supplies from Stampin’ Up can be used no matter what your skill levels are. Being that I live in Tucson, as soon as I saw the Flowering Desert stamp set and its Saguaro cactus, I knew it was something an Avid crafter needed!
My beginner card is perfect for those just getting started with paper crafting or those who don’t want to purchase too many supplies. This card embodies what Stampin’ Up is all about: Paper, Ink and Stamps!
I started with a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and stamped onto it with Berry Burst ink. I layered with Whisper White cardstock and stamped the cactus in Tranquil Tide ink, the berry stamp in Berry Burst and the small leaf stamp in Fresh Fig. The sentiment is in Tranquil Tide and and those simple supplies create a wonderful and easy project!
Stepping up the card for Casual crafters, this card still maintains the same overall design with a few modifications. I stamped the cactus in Tranquil Tide on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and used my Paper Snips of free cut it out. I also stamped the sentiment on a separate piece of cardstock and used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out the saying. I sponged the outline with Fresh Fig ink and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two small Basic Rhinestones added a bit of shine to the project.
Finally the Avid crafter. Those that craft a lot and have a lot of supplies to go with it. On this card, I used the same layers of Tranquil Tide and Whisper White but this time I cut them out with the Big Shot and used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. I added a piece of the Berry Burst Metallic Edged Ribbon and although hard to see in the photo, the cactus is layered with Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.
All three of these cards use the same basic layers, stamp set, and inks and can be modified for any skill level!
