Color Combo Blog Hop July 2018

Welcome readers to a new hop that I am joining called the Colour Combo Blog Hop!

For July’s hop, we are using three colors that I don’t use too often so it was nice to jump out of my comfort zone.  Right away when I saw these colors I thought of a baby card, but I wanted to switch my focus onto a different occasion.  I don’t have too many sympathy cards in my stash I keep and it is always nice to have one of those on hand in case you I need one (although I never truly want to have to use a sympathy card because that means something bad happened).

When designing my card, I wanted to keep it very simple.  I feel sympathy cards need to be simple as not to take away from the event too much.  I knew I wanted to highlight one of the flowers from the Love What You Do stamp set too.
This card is great for any gender as the Petal Pink and Balmy Blue are great together.  I used the Ruffled Dynamic Embossing folder to emboss the Balmy Blue cardstock and using the Squares Layering Framelits, I cut out the scalloped square in Petal Pink.  I cut the Very Vanilla cardstock out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and stamped the flower in Night of Navy.

Isn’t that ribbon adorable?  I sponged the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon with my Stampin’ Sponge and Petal Pink ink to give the ribbon a totally different look.  The sentiment is from the new Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and punched it out using the Classic Label punch.  This stamp set is amazing as it has so many different sentiments all in one set.

  1. Hello Anastasia!
What a great idea to color the polka dot ribbon with ink and sponge! I love the result and have to try this myself.
I wish you a great week!
    Kind regards, Brigitte from Austria
