We Create Blog Hop 8 – Summer Fun!

Happy August!  July was such a whirlwind of activity over the in the Stampin’ Blondie world.  We bought a house, I doubled my team size with the ink pad promotion, and I’m so excited to present my project for this month’s We Create Bloggers August Hop!

With the temperatures rising, it was only fitting this month to focus on Summer projects!  For my card this month, I wanted to highlight the new Lilypad Lake stamp set.  This is one of my favorite sets in the Annual Catalog.  Living in Arizona, I miss being able to take our kayak out on the lake.  My husband and I would take our kayak out to many lakes around Italy when we lived there and it’s something I miss so very much since moving to Arizona.
I really love the way this card turned out!  It’s simple but makes a great card for both males and females.  I started off with a base of Blackberry Bliss.  Using my Mint Macaron reinker, I used the Aqua Painter to paint a splash of color on the Watercolor Paper.  I stamped the water lines across the paper using Blueberry Bushel ink.

Don’t you love the splatter look?  It’s so simple to do with the Stampin’ Write markers and no extra tools are needed to do it!  I cut the bird out and colored it in with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and used the Classic Label punch to stamp out my sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings Set and added a final touch of bling with the Faceted Dots.

  1. Beautiful card! I love Mint Macaron with the Blackberry Bliss. The Vellum is such a nice addition too. I hope you and your husband get to have a Kayak Date Night again sometime soon!

  2. This is a great masculine card. Those are so hard to create sometimes. Love the vellum circle you layered with. It adds dimension and makes the bird pop.
