Its Tuesday and time for another technique lesson! This week I’m going to discuss how to do the starburst technique. Its simple, easy, and looks amazing on cards! This technique goes along with the Friday Mashup challenge at http://www.fridaymashup.com/. The challenge this week is:
To begin with the starburst technique, you need to cut a piece of cardstock 4 inches by 5.25 inches. It doesn’t matter what color it is so feel free to use something you aren’t a fan of because its not going to show. A perfect excuse to use some scraps! You also need three pieces of patterned papered cut into strips of 1.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Next cut each of those strips corner to corner so you end up with six triangles.
I sponged each of the squares using Soft Suede ink to give it an antique look. Next arrange the triangles on the cardstock making sure NOT to adhere anything until you are sure of the layout! When finally ready, adhere your triangles slightly overlapping each other and then trim around your base to give a squared off look.
I measured out a piece of Early Espresso card stock and used Cherry Cobbler dotted ribbon to tie the look together.
Adhere your design to your cardbase, add your embellishments, and viola! Your card is done and looks amazing!

Ink: Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Wonderfall, PS I Love You, Teeny Tiny Wishes
