Hi readers! I hope that everyone in the USA had a wonderful 4th of July and got to celebrate our independence in a great way with fireworks, food, and family! Today is the first Friday of the month and it’s time for our next Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!
Our theme this month is something I am super excited about, Home Decor! Stampin’ Up offers a great variety of paper crafting items that aren’t just made solely for card making. These supplies make wonderful home decor items and that all coordinate with each other so you can make projects that go with any color scheme in your home.
For my project, I wanted to focus on a sampler. I love making these. They make great gifts and decor that can be changed out with the seasons. Because 4th of July was a few days ago, I wanted to create something that I could display in my house for the season.
There are many different elements to this sampler and it would be a great class! In the big square, I used the Silver Glimmer Paper and the Large Letter Dies to cut out USA. I adhered them using Mini Dimensionals. On the Real Red paper, I stamped using the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set. This set has a stamp that looks like fireworks and is great for the theme.
I used the new In Color 2018-2020 6×6″ Designer Series Paper Stack in the Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick colors for use on the squares. Disclaimer – I did use a retired stamp set called Words of Courage (such a rebel I know). The stars and the freedom sentiment went so well with this sampler I needed to use them. I did use a current stamp set, Bike Ride, with coordinating framelits to cut out the bike that was stamped in Real Red and Blueberry Bushel.
For the chair, I used the Seasonal Layers Dies and Whisper White paper to cut it out and stamped using Real Red and cut the cup out using the same dies. To add a touch of texture, I finished the project with the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. I purchased the frame at my local Michael’s store and they come in a four pack.
