Happy Tuesday everyone! Last week my husband and I visited the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland in California for our 9 year wedding anniversary! We had not spent the last two anniversaries together because of military training and because I was visiting the States from Italy last year, so it was time for us to actually spend one together!
This was a trip I surprised him at Christmas time with. We planned and spent three days at Disneyland and California Adventure riding rides, swimming, getting too much sun (even with sunscreen) and enjoying not early enough churros, pineapple Dole whips, or the BEST popcorn on earth!
We both had never visited Disneyland before but had been to Disney World numerous times, plus I visited Disneyland Paris last year for my birthday. One of my favorite things we did was view the World of Color show where they project Disney movie scenes on misting water. It was so awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
We also got to try the “gray stuff” that comes from the movie Beauty and the Beast. In the movie, when they are signing Be Our Guest, they say ‘try the gray stuff, its delicious, don’t believe me ask the dishes.’ Ours was a vanilla mousse with red velvet cake and a raspberry filling. So yummy!
The final highlight of the trip was meeting Oscar Martinez. He has been employed by Disneyland for 61 years and is the longest employed cast member they have. He was there on opening day of Disneyland and even knew Walt Disney himself!
Overall we had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go back again in January for my birthday with my best friend who’s birthday is three days after mine (and who went with me to Disneyland Paris!)
