Happy Saturday readers! The weekend is finally here and it’s time for another monthly installment of the Stampers By The Dozen blog hop!
Last month we celebrated all the parents in our lives and this month we are focusing on kids! Kids cards always seem to be one of the hardest for me to create. I don’t have children of my own (but I have two fur babies I treat like my kids!) and creating kids cards can be difficult when I hardly make cards for kids.
For my project, I wanted to keep it simple but also highlight all new colors from the Annual Catalog. Our new 2018-2020 In Colors are perfect for kids cards as they are bright and core colors that work with any palette. Adding the new Gorgeous Grape color to this line up makes a perfect rainbow palette to work with.
I love these colors together! I wanted to keep it simple since kids like simple and the bright colors are gender neutral and can be used for anything from a baby shower to a birthday to a confirmation.
I used the new Birthday Backgrounds stamp set to create the splatter effect behind the swirls and the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set for the sentiment and little triangles next to the saying. I used the Swirly Scibbles Thinlits dies, which I just recently got after putting them off for a while, to bring in more color. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, and the Blueberry Bushel swirls to pop them up and give the card depth.
