Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop – All About Travel!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Yesterday my husband and I closed on our very first house purchase!  It’s a big deal to us as we are a military family who constantly moves but we finally found a house we love.  Let’s just hope we don’t move again next summer!

Today we are halfway through another work week and time for another round of the Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is all about travel, one of my favorite things to do!  From 2012-2016, my husband and I lived in Italy at Aviano Air Base.  While we were there, we traveled to 28 countries and some of them exotic like Turkey, Morocco, and the ever in the news country right now, Russia.  Being half Russian, going there was number one on my bucket list and we visited St. Petersburg in May 2016.  It was beautiful!
For my project this month, I wanted to focus traveling in a different way.  When I think of travel, I think of drifting off into far off lands and taking the road less traveled and taking myself to new places.  The new Dandelion Wishes stamp set brought a sense of travel to me with the set where the flower is flowing into the wind, or taking itself to far off places.
This is a perfect card which can be used for males or females.  I love that the sentiment can be used a variety of ways from a Bon Voyage card to someone who may be sick.  I started with a base of Soft Sea Foam card stock and embossed with with the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder.  This is truly becoming my favorite new embossing folder!

It’s hard to tell in the picture, but I used a strip of vellum across the middle and on top I layered Smoky Slate card stock.  I stamped also using Smoky Slate and cut out the scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits.  I stamped my sentiment using Soft Sea Foam ink and as a final touch, a Soft Sea Foam Faceted Dot.
