Wednesday is here, we are halfway through the week, and it’s time for another monthly hop with the Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop group!

O say can you see….our patriotic projects! This month our theme is celebrating our individual countries pride by showcasing projects that are all patriotic! I love this theme as it’s unique and something I haven’t done in my other hops, and it was fun to think outside the box and create something in honor of the ol’ Stars and Stripes!
For my project, I knew right away exactly what set I wanted to showcase. During On Stage in April, I received the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set and instantly knew that one of the stamps looks like fireworks so I had to use it. In the USA, we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th and the culmination of the day is going to see huge fireworks displays!

Of course I had to highlight the red, white and blue of our flag by using Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, and Whisper White for my card. I created my own Designer Series Paper background by using that ‘firework’ stamp inked in Real Red and stamped all over. Using the Large Letters Framelits Dies and Silver Glimmer Paper, I cut out USA and gave them some height with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I knew I had to add some texture and the Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Mesh Ribbon, the Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon, and the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon were the perfect colors to tie (see what I did there) everything together with just a little bit of bling in the corner coming from the Basic Rhinestones. The Polka Dot Mesh Ribbon is perfect too because you can color it to be any other color you want!
