Look deeeeeep into my eyes!

Are you looking?! Its time for the first Halloween card of the year! Wooo! I LOVE Halloween! Although we have moved to a country that doesn’t celebrate it (c’mon Italians you don’t know what you’re missing!), I can still make some awesome spooky cards!
I decided to use this card to participate in my first ever Dynamic Duos challenge.  This challenge pairs up two colors and your card can ONLY use those colors (of course naturals such as white, cream, and kraft brown can be used too).  This weeks colors were Lucky Limeade and Basic Black with a Halloween theme extra challenge!  Find the challenge here http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.com

I haven’t worked with Lucky Limeade too much as green isn’t one of my favorite colors but I wanted to get outside my norm and also combine the color challenge with a sketch challenge.  This is my first time doing a Paper Players challenge and using banners was the theme.  Banners are BIG right now so I dove right in.  Their website is http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com

Here’s what I came up with!

I lightly stamped the owl (isn’t he cute?!) using the Basic Black but I didn’t want him completely saturated.  I wanted him to look spooky and creepy!  I used rhinestones on his eyes to make him look extra scary and colored the face on the bag Lucky Limeade because he has a glow stick in his bag!  I also sponged the spider embossing folder with basic black ink to give the spider web some color and make the texture stand out more.
Supplies use (all Stampin’ Up unless noted):
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Specialty Paper: Silver Glimmer Paper, PinkPaislee.com Autum Blossom Paper, Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Label Framelets, Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Piercing Pack, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Bat Punch, Modern Label Punch, Stampin’ Sponges, Rhinestones
Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Warmest of Wishes
Ink: Basic Black, Whisper White Craft Ink

  3. Whoo Hoo! Hooray for joining us at your first Dynamic Duos challenge with this adorably spooky card! I really like how you stamped the owl and the pop of sparkly paper on the banners. The paper piercing is a great touch, too. Thanks so much for joining us this week at BOTH Dynamic Duos and the Paper Players! 🙂
