A unique twist!

Ever since I got a preview of the Holiday Stampin’ Up! catalog a few months ago, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and coordinating framelits.  I wanted to create a get well soon card!  The mason jar is a perfect backdrop for this ‘Caught a Bug?’ card!  I entered this card into the Hand Stamp Sentiments blog challenge this week.  We were asked to use the following colors:

Now shades of orange and blue remind me of the Florida Gators and while I am a Florida State fan (of course after my number 1 team and alma mater Iowa State Cyclones!), so this challenge was a little hard for me to stomach using these two colors together.  But I sucked it up for the greater good and created this lovely piece:

I wanted to use some letter stamps that I haven’t used in a while and they are actually letter stamps from a Disney Princess letter set I have.  I colored the bakers twine using a Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write marker and the two bugs and staying are stamped in Early Espresso (although hard to tell from the picture).  I love the way it turned out and a great card for anyone feeling under the weather!
Supplies used (all supplies from Stampin’ Up minus letter stamps):
Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
Ink: Basic Black, Island Indigo, Early Espresso
Specialty Paper: Designer Series Brights Stack
Accessories: Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder, Cannery Framelits, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Eyelet Border Punch
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved, Disney Princess Letter Stamps

  4. Total cuteness with your "caught a bug" card. Your idea of catching the bugs in the mason jar is very clever. Thanks for adding your great card to our color challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments. Smiles, Elizabeth
