3rd Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Happy Sunday everyone!  The weekend is coming to a close and it’s time for an extra special hop that I am taking apart in this month.

This hop is special because we are using our creativity in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  The unified color of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is pink and the awareness ribbon showcases that.  For this hop, we are creating projects that show we support Breast Cancer Awareness by creating all pink projects.

For my project, I wanted to create a card that you could give to someone going through a difficult time.  These types of cards can be hard to create not because of their design, but because you want to convey the right message with inspiration behind the words.  I wanted to use some new exciting products from the Snowflake Showcase, which are beautiful items that will be available to all customers starting November 1st.
I stared with a Melon Mambo card base and layered using Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink card stocks.  I love this color combination together.  First I cut a hole out with my Stitched Shapes die and used the back of the Powder Pink paper as my stencil.  I used Melon Mambo ink and a Stampin Sponge to fill in the background on the Flirty Flamingo paper to give the back some pop of darker color.
I cut my big snowflake out with the new White Velveteen Paper.  While it’s hard to see in the photo, this paper has a nice soft finish to it and is a great way to add texture.  Next I used the medium sized snowflake die with Melon Mambo paper to layer on top and finished the layer with the new Snowflake Trinkets.  I have some great ideas coming with these and I can’t wait to show that off when the time comes!

For my sentiment, I used the saying from the Lilypad Lake stamp set.  It’s a great sentiment that can be used for a few different occasions and is a great way to convey a hard message to someone.  I used Flirty Flamingo ink for that and a Glitter Enamel Dot to finish the card.
