Global Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop – Stepping It Up!

Good Friday afternoon everyone!  March is here and it’s time for another month with the Global Stampin’ Friend Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is all about stepping up your projects!  Stampin’ Up! provides supplies for a variety for crafting levels and paired together you can step your projects up and up to make them whatever level you desire.  For my project this month, I wanted to use the Hello Cupcake stamp set which can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration!
I started my first project off with Coastal Cabana cardstock and layered with the same color.  I did a tone on tone ink technique wit the Coastal Cabana ink and the sprinkles stamp.  I layered with a simple Whisper White matte and stamped the cupcake base with Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana frosting top, and the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  That’s it!  Stamps, ink, and paper for a very simple but still beautiful project!
To step my project up, I made very simple tweaks to it but still gave it a simple design.  I used the same Coastal Cabana base and on the layer I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up my matte.

For the cupcake, I stamped the base still in Crumb Cake and the first layer in Coastal Cabana, but I stamped another layer in Melon Mambo and cut both frosting layers out and adhered one with Dimensionals.  A final touch of Basic Black Solid Bakers Twine ties everything together!

  1. Very subtle changes but an amazing difference between the original and stepped up version. The Melon Mambo version really pops. Love it!

  2. Yummy cards! Love this set! Stacking icing! That's brilliant! Who doesn't love icing (besides my son 😉) Thank you for the inspiration!
