We Create Subtles Collection Blog Hop

Happy Friday and happy March to everyone!  Today I am visiting the frozen tundra of Iowa and excited to share my project for this month’s hop!

Today we are making project using the subtles collection!  I normally don’t work too much in this color collection so it was great to step outside my comfort zone and work with colors I tend to steer away from.

Brights are normally where I tend to gravitate to so its time to tone things down a little!  I knew I wanted to use the All That You Are stamp set which is perfect for subtle colors!
Maybe subtles are my thing!  I started with a Pear Pizzaz cardstock base and layered using Calypso Coral cardstock.  Using my Stamparatus tool, I inked my stamp using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and kept stamping until my image was as dark as I wanted it.  This tool is perfect for this stamp to get that nice dark black ink!

I colored in the flowers with my Stampin’ Blends markers using both the dark and light Calypso Coral, light Petal Pink on the small flowers, light Highland Heather, but I did use the dark and light Granny Apple Green and light Daffodil Delight markers too.  There weren’t any subtles offered for those colors.

I used my Highland Heather marker on the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon.  This ribbon can be colored whatever color you would like with the Stampin’ Blends and is perfect to match to any project you might have!

The Tailored Tag Punch is an easy way to frame your sentiments and a quick technique to shadow it is to punch with a different color of cardstock and cut straight in half! Easy to shadow and a great way to stretch your punches!

  1. Your coloring is beautiful!! I love the Highland Heather ribbon. Your sentiment goes perfectly with that Tailored Tag Punch. I like how you put the Calypso Coral piece behind it. Beautiful card!
