Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop November 2018 – Christmas

Thursday is here, the weekend is coming, but first it’s time for another monthly round of the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop!

The holidays are quickly approaching and our theme this month is Christmas!  While I was at Stampin’ Up OnStage in Orlando last week spending a fabulous time with 6,000 other Demonstrators, one of the biggest messages I took home is that I need to create projects for all skill levels; beginner, casual, and avid.  I always struggle with making beginner cards because I want to add embellishments, ribbon or die cuts from the Big Shot.

For my project, I really wanted to sit down and focus on a project that is a great card for beginner crafters to create.  Something that was simple but also show that anyone could make this.  I knew right away I wanted to focus on one of the stamp sets from the Snowflake Showcase promotion called Happiness Surrounds.
I really like how this stamp set doesn’t normally have a Christmas feel to it when you first look at it but when creating using traditional Christmas colors, it really can become any type of occasion stamp you want it to be.  I started off with the Silver Foiled Edged cards and coordinating envelopes.  I layered using Cherry Cobbler card stock and stamped the wreath image in Whisper White craft ink.

Next on a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the medium snowflake using Garden Green ink and punched the shape out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch and layered over top the sentiment stamped in the Whisper White craft ink on Garden Green card stock.  To finish it up, I used the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

  1. I love this idea! I didn't see Christmas on this set until now. Also love the way you layered the card stock with the metallic edge leaving the perfect border to mat the card. Thanks for such great inspiration !!
