Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop – May Good Things Grow

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to the new Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop!

This group of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators is bringing you alternative projects created using this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit called May Good Things Grow.  The kit this month has a vintage feel with flowers, distressed cards and envelopes, and a GIANT sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals (I really hope these will be available in the upcoming annual catalog as this sheet is bigger than my hand)!

I will admit, I had a very hard time coming up with an alternate project using this months kits.  Like I stated above, the feel of the kit is very vintage and not my style of stamping.  I rarely use Fresh Fig in my designs and while looking at the items in front of me, I had MAJOR creative stampin’ block, and not the good clear block kind either!

After browsing around online on a few Paper Pumpkin Facebook groups, I came across a design by Debbie Henderson that caught my eye.  She used the wooden pieces that were an extra incentive for Paper Pumpkin celebrating five years and had colored them using Stampin’ Write Markers.  I really liked this design but wanted to make it my own by adding additional items to her creation and making the colors seem more like me!

The colors she used were not brights (she originally used Rose Red and Pool Party) so I decided to use Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Bermuda Bay as I love this combination of colors and its perfect for multiple occasions!
I also changed her design up by using the stamps that came in the kit to create a frame around the edges and colored the White Perfect Accents with my Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends marker to give them a pop of color.  The white base is popped up using Dimensionals.  After making a card like this, the kit has potential to become something I use with bolder and brighter colors!

  1. What a wonderful way to show how different colors can change the look and feel of this kit. Love the bright colors for the different elements. 🙂
