ICS Blog Hop – One Last Chance to Sale-A-Brate!

Holy Moly March is here!! Where did February go?  It’s the first Wednesday of the month and time for another edition of the Inspire, Create, & Share blog hop!

Sale-A-Bration is quickly coming to an end and for our last hop during Sale-A-Bration, it’s time to showcase this wonderful promotion!  For my project this month, I wanted to use a technique that’s been pushed to the back of my rotation for a while – Watercolor Smooshing!

This technique is so easy and creates a different effect each time it is done.  You only need a few simple supplies: a quart sized Ziploc bag, Stampin’ Write markers in your choice of colors (I used Flirty Flamingo, Peakaboo Peach, and Daffodil Delight), an Aqua Painter, and watercolor paper.

First take your Stampin’ Write markers and color onto the Ziploc bag.  Next, take your Aqua Painter and run zig zags over your watercolor paper to saturate it.  After that, flip your colored bag over and place it on top of the wet watercolor paper.  The best way to get the color to blend is to ‘smoosh’ the Ziploc and move the colors together!

Once dry your colors will look blended and like you water colored them together!  For my final project, I highlighted the Beautiful Peacock stamp set which can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration!
Along with the water coloring, I did a bit of coloring to make this card pop!  I used my Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends marker to color the Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon and the Light Calypso Coral, Light Pumpkin Pie, and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color the pearls at the bottom.  A big of Flirty Flamingo sponging on the Starburst punch.
