ICS Blog Hop - It's A Guy Thing

Happy Wednesday everyone!  May is here and it's time for another month with the Inspire, Create, and Share Blog Hop!

This month we are celebrating those special guys in our lives with masculine cards with a twist, only in black and white!  While I love creating with all the great colors that Stampin' Up! has to offer, creating a black and white card sometimes can really stretch my creativity!  For my project this month, I wanted to use a bundle from the retiring list and one I'm going to miss so much, Sailing Home!
SAILING HOME BUNDLE

I started off with a Whisper White card stock base and layered using Basic Black card stock.  I cut multiple anchors using the coordinating dies and layered them into a fun pattern for the background.  I used the Stitched Shape Dies and Vellum paper to add a little frost to my project and stamped the boats using Tuxedo Black ink.  A final touch of a Sail Away Trinket and it's the perfect masculine project!

  2. I never really thought to use a die cut to layer on the background to make a different kind of DIY DSP. That's genius! Love this set and your card!
