Global Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop – The Neutrals!

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s a beautiful and warm day here in sunny Tucson and it’s time for another month with the Global Stampin’ Friends hop!

This month we are showing our Neutrals collection.  For me, the neutrals collection are colors I like to use in my projects but it isn’t the main color collection I normally tend to gravitate to (Brights collection girl here ALL the way).  I love using neutrals though for creating masculine cards or projects that brights not not be the best choice for.

I wanted the colors to be the main focus of my project but also to highlight a super easy and fun technique using our Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  This stack of paper has great basic designs that can be used in any project and I chose the polka dots to showcase.

I started with an Early Espresso cardstock base and cut strips of the Designer Series Paper in 1/2″ wide strips.  I laid the middle Basic Gray piece down first as my starting point and just layered down the other pieces side by side, it’s that simple!
I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set for my sentiment that I stamped using Basic Gray ink for.  The sprinkles were stamped using Crumb Cake and I used Crumb Cake cardstock to cut the scalloped circle behind to frame it.

  1. Wow, what a great card. I do love this technique and it looks perfect using 'the Neutrals'. Thanks for the inspiration

  2. That is a cool card! I thought you laid vellum on it after running it through the softly falling embossing folder. Then you told how it was way simpler and it was the polka dot paper! Love it!

  3. Amazing card design. Love the way you have pieced the designer series paper together. Great way to use up scraps. 🙂
