This month Paper Pumpkin is celebrating its sixth birthday with an extra special kit delivering TWO stamp sets instead of the usual one!  These cards are perfect for creating pop up cards that are sure to be loved by all.

For my alternate project this month, I wanted to incorporate a stamp set that might not have gotten much love since Valentines Day is over.  As soon as I saw the birthday hat pieces, I knew I had to use the ape stamp from the Hey Love stamp set!
Who knew an ape in a birthday hat could be so cute?!  The card base, yellow scalloped flag and party hat are all pieces that come with the kit.  I used the flagged piece from the kit of trace along on a piece of Real Red cardstock and cut out the piece to be the same size as the one that the kit comes with.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and used the Basic Rhinestones on the edge.

For the ape, I stamped him in Tuxedo Black ink as well and colored him in using the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, Light Petal Pink Blend, and the Light Poppy Parade Blend.  I used the Stitched Shaped Framelits and the Oval Layering Framelits to give a coordinating texture to the scalloped flag!

April’s kit looks to be even better when Distinkive Stamps come to Paper Pumpkin!  Check out this sneak peek and subscribe to the kit by April 10th by clicking HERE!
