Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop – Grown with Kindness

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are coming to you with a new and improved schedule for the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop!  Each month we are now scheduled to hop on the last Tuesday so make sure to join us for some beautiful alternate projects!

This month’s kit is all about photo realistic images of succulents!  The kit is called Grown with Kindness and is something I haven’t seen from Paper Pumpkin before.  These images are so beautiful and something I don’t normally work with and because of this, I wanted to use a different element of the kit that felt more like me.

Those that have followed my stampin’ style for a while know that I love working with bright and bold colors.  Geometric shapes are also one of my favorites to work with so the stamp set in this kit is perfect as it has three varieties of stamps to make great backgrounds.

I started with a base of Basic Black cardstock and layered using Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  Using the black and white striped paper from the kit, I stamped using Coastal Cabana and Blackberry Bliss ink.  I didn’t want these colors to be too bright as the background paper was already bright enough.

Next I stamped using Staz On Ink onto watercolor paper with the teacup stamp.  Normally I don’t like to use Staz on with my photoplymer stamps as it can damage them over time, but I quickly cleaned it off with my Staz On Cleaner.  I colored the paper in with Watercolor Pencils and used my Aqua Painter to blend the colors.  For a final touch, I used the Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and colored in some rhinestones to make them dark.

March’s kit looks to be even better when an exclusive second stamp set offered for FREE in each of the kits!  Check out this sneak peek and subscribe to the kit by March 10th by clicking HERE!
