Stamp N’ Hop October 2018 – Christmas Jump Start!

Happy Friday everyone!  The weekend is quickly approaching and it’s time for our monthly Stamp N’ Hop blog hop!

While the official start of the holiday’s isn’t here just yet, this month we are kicking them off by getting a jump start on Christmas projects!  It’s never too early to start think of Christmas projects.  Now is when I like to start crafting on them so when Christmas actually is here, I’m spending time with them and not in the craft room.

For my project this month, I wanted to share a project from my recent Holiday Stampin’ Bingo that I held.  The event was a great success with 12 stampers joining me and they had so much fun playing bingo and winning prizes from the new Holiday Catalog.  One of the Make and Take projects that we made highlighted the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set which is my second favorite set from the new catalog!

This card is the perfect choice for sharing with new Stampers but also great for those who are experienced as well!  I started off with a Cherry Cobbler card stock base.  It’s hard to tell in the photo, but I layered with another layer of Cherry Cobbler but this piece was embossed using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This folder is perfect for adding a slight texture pattern to any project without being too overwhelming.
There are two different types of Designer Series Paper on this card, the green leaf pattern is from the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper and the wood pattern is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper package.  The Frosted Floral is special because of this soft shimmer on both sides of each piece of paper.  I stamped the house using Memento ink on Crumb Cake paper and cut it out using the coordinating framelits set!

Isn’t that smoke the perfect texture!?  I pulled a small amount of cotton from the end of a Q-tip swab and glued it down with a little bit of the Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  The shutters and wreath are colored in with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend!

  1. I haven't bought the Subtle embossing folder as yet, but keep seeing amazing cards with it … and yours is no exception. Lovely, and I love the fun element with the smoke coming out the chimney 😁
