Snowflake Showcase Blog Hop

Happy Sunday Stampers!  The weekend is winding down and it’s time for an extra special hop!

This hop is all about the new Snowflake Showcase items from Stampin’ Up!  These special items are not available in any catalog and are only around for the month of November or until supplies last!  For my project, I wanted to highlight the Snowfall Thinlits and the Snow is Glistening stamp set.
This card reminds me so much of the cold winter nights when I used to live in Iowa!  I started with a Very Vanilla card base.  Using a piece of Very Vanilla, I sponged using my Stampin’ Sponge with Balmy Blue ink in the middle, Night of Navy ink around the edges, and a small amount of Rich Razzleberry ink in the middle to blend the two together.  This technique is a very simple one to do and creates such stunning backgrounds.
In my Spritzer, I mixed rubbing alcohol with the Frost White Shimmer Paint to create a mist that I sprayed closer to my paper to make sure it gets that extra shine.  Using Very Vanilla paper, I used my Big Shot to cut out the large snowflake die and sponged just a tiny amount of the Balmy Blue ink around the edges.  Next, with the medium snowflake, I cut it out with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
For the finishing touches, I stamped the sentiment using Night of Navy ink and flagged the corners of the paper and sponged the edges with Balmy Blue ink.  I added the final bling using the Share What You Love Pearls.
