Stamp N Hop August 2018 – Masculine!

Friday is finally here and it’s time for another round of the Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop!

This month’s hop is all about Masculine cards!  Sometimes I feel like these can be the toughest cards to create.  While I normally don’t create cards with lots of flowers or subtle colors, since my projects tend to be bright and bold colors it’s difficult for me to create masculine projects.
Even though I don’t make masculine cards a lot, I feel like I kept to the way I normally create my projects with this one.  The Sea of Textures bundle is so cute and perfect for both masculine and feminine cards depending on what colors you choose for the octopus.  Masculine cards I feel need to be basic but pack a punch and this card does exactly that.

I started with a Blueberry Bushel card base and layered it with a Whisper White mat.  I stamped the net in Soft Suede but stamped off onto a scratch piece of paper first to get a toned down color.  I stamped the octopus in Balmy Blue and then using the Stampin’ Daubers, I sponged some Blueberry Bushel onto the ends of his tentacles.  I cut the seaweed out using Shaded Spruce to bring in a complimentary color.

That little embellishment that the sentiment is stamped on is from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  The pieces come prepunched and are an easy way to add something beautiful to any project.  I stamped the sentiment using Shaded Spruce ink and this card can be used for multiple occasions.
