Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop August 2018 – Pets!

Happy Wednesday readers!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far and it’s time for another round of the Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is all about the furry critters in our lives that we love, pets!  My two fur babies are a tremendous help in my life.  When my husband is gone on his deployments or shorter temporary duty assignments, day to day as we live far from family with him being in the military, my two miniature dachshunds are always the constant I have.

Harvey, our black dachshund, was a wedding present from my husband ten years ago and we recently got Noelle, our brown dachshund, in April after our other dachshund Buddy suddenly and unexpectedly had to cross the rainbow bridge…while my husband was deployed.
Our babies are both seniors (13 years old) but they are spunky!  Naturally when it was time to create a pet card, I immediately knew exactly what set I needed to use as it has a dachshund in it!
For my project, I wanted to showcase how the Ready for Christmas stamp set can be used for more than just the Holidays.  I used a Blackberry Bliss cardstock base and the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper for a pop of color.  I stamped and cut the images out with the coordinating Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies and colored them in with Stampin’ Blends.  I used the Mint Macaron, Rich Razzelberry, Night of Navy, and Soft Suede blends in both the dark and light color combos.  The birthday wishes sentiment is from the Varied Vases stamp set.

  1. I love the return of Blackberry Bliss! Great use of the holiday stamp set for a different purpose. And spot on for the pet theme.
