Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop – You Are My Anchor

Happy Cinco de Mayo friends!  Today in Tucson will be filled with tacos, margaritas and of course, another round of the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop!

This round we are highlighting the April 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit called You Are My Anchor.  I love, love, LOVE this month’s kit with its nautical theme and the simple and bold colors.

The last time we hopped, I had difficulty trying to design a project but this hop, it literally just popped up into my head.  This kit is perfectly timed with Father’s Day coming soon, summer celebrations, and more.  The stamp set is so cute and I can’t wait to use this in more of my projects.  I’m very happy I purchased two of these kits!

I love the simplicity of this project, but how I used many different pieces and the ahoy sentiment is perfect for any occasion.  I started with a piece of Island Indigo (R.I.P. one of my favorite Stampin’ Up colors that is retiring at the end of this month) and stamped the tiny sailboat using Island Indigo ink.  The cards in the kit come in a 3 in x 3 in size and I unfolded one of those and used it as a layer on top of the Island Indigo and I also cut the gold starburst card in half as well.  The lighthouse was a punch out shape and I used the Glitter Enamel Dots to highlight the ahoy sentiment.
