ICS Blog Hop - Celebrate You and a Color Challenge!

Happy February! The first Wednesday of the month is here and it's time for another edition of the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!
I can't believe how fast January went and how we are in our second month of Sale-A-Bration already!  Sale-A-Bration is Stampin' Up!s biggest annual promotion where for every $50 you purchase before tax and shipping, you receive a free item! New this year is the addition of a second tier for $100 where you can choose bigger and better items for your free item, and this month I am highlighting one of these items - the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies and another Sale-A-Bration item, a $50 option, Amazing You which coordinates with the dies!

This month we are switching things up!  A call went out on the Design Team page about how we needed a theme for the month and I put out the idea of a Color Challenge...and it was chosen!  Color Challenges are great to get your mind working in ways that are different than normal.  With challenges, you can ONLY use the colors listed, no Whisper White, no Basic Black only the specific colors!  I really love these colors together!

When I picked them out, I knew exactly the type of project I had in mind.  The project would be a perfect project for the new Stamparatus stamping tool to line all the words up with each other, but unfortunately my tool won't be here until March!  To create this card, I used the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper in the Bermuda Bay color for my base.  To line up my stamps, I used a small amount of tape and taped my crumb cake piece to a piece of Stampin' Up Grid Paper.  This paper is perfect to use to line up items as the boxes are evenly spaced and can be marked to line items up.

I stamped the first celebrate in Night of Navy, then moved down the card to Dapper Denim, Island Indigo, and finally Bermuda Bay.  Next, I used the Night of Navy corduroy ribbon to give some texture and finally Night of Navy cardstock to cut out the you die.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I layered Wink of Stella glitter pen over the you die to give it some shine!  The flower from the stamp set in stamped in Crumb Cake as well.
